I am an Artist who's lived in Portishead, North Somerset for twenty years. I was a secondary school Art and Design Teacher for forty years specialising in Fine Art, Photography and Graphics and now, in retirement I paint!
I am inspired by nature although I do like to include significant local landmarks in my oil and acrylic paintings. 
I've always been inspired by the layers I see within the skies, water and land surrounding me wherever I go, particularly on the wonderful coast of Somerset. 
I constantly photograph and collect images which I later divide up and to create my colourful and vibrant layered paintings reminiscent of the travel posters of the 1920/50's
My lighthouse series is a passion to represent all of Somerset’s fascinating six lighthouses. I interpret colour, tones and layers wherever I go in the landscape and exaggerate these elements in my work.
I also paint semi-abstract compositions based on the facets, tones, colours and shapes and patterns found in gemstones including diamonds, emeralds, amethysts and sapphires.
